Joint Task Force - PC

This was a gift for my grandson. When I learned that he couldn't install it on his three year old PC, I tried on my 3 GHz PC with 2 GB of RAM and kept getting a CD error. Amazon was great about returning it and the replacement installed, although installing the four CDs took about thirty minutes, but then both my grandson and I got the same message when we tried to run it, that we couldn't use it because the graphics card does not support Pixel Shaders or or Vertex Shaders, which I had to look up. A text file on one CD gave a list of supported graphics cards, and it was the same list as another game I had given him from another company and he had successfully installed. Then I gave up. $80 or more for a graphics card that might or might not work, and all this over a $20 game, was just too much. Maybe Amazon would take it back again, but between running it back and forth between our two houses all of this has already taken three months, and enough is enough. I tried to give it no stars, but the system wouldn't accept that.

Joint Task Force by Vivendi Universal is a war game for the pc which I bought at the height of the irqi war in the mid 2000's. I soon discovered that it was easy to program, create maps and mods and I used it to create realistic what if scenarios. It met all my expectations and in the process I learned how to write complicated programs and run simulations. I also discovered that it is an excellent communications program, capable of communicating complex concepts across the internet in complete security and privacy. This later function in the hands of the wrrong people could make it a dangerous terrorist weapon (if terrorism does indeed exist) as it can be used to rely information and orders to far flang locations without being intercepted by espionage authorities. Even if the communications are intercepted, no one will have any clue of how to access the information contained for analytical purposes.

Bought this game for a great price. Worth every penny in my opinion. It's not the greatest strategy game out there but I find myself on the edge of my seat sometimes. The equipment/technology in game is actually real military equipment, and in very good detail. The story line adds a little bit of more fun into it. I'd say go for it. For the price, you really can't go wrong with it.

I think writing down a review should be optional. Just like how it used to be. I just want to give a couple of stars, clear my order history and get on with the rest of my day. It's long in the tooth, but I still had a lot of fun after finding the demo on Steam. I didn't like Steam's price enough to grab it there though.I paid a lot less on here and even though it took forever to get here, I am very pleased with the price and the game. I grabbed this game and 2 others that came from a different vendor. $15 for 3 fun games was like a steal!

I like this game runs good on my old dell. the only thing is it does not get you close to the blood and action. I like it up close so you fell like you are there. see them bleed.

Great RTS game. Air, Armour and Infantry interact at your command. A 20 Mission campaign and individual skirmishes are available.you decide who to promote and what specialties each commander has. graphics are very good for an older game and installation on windows 7 was no problem.

I bought the game but it kept crashing everytime I started playing. The game would work perfectly until you started a mission, then it would flash, then flash off and crash. Tried on a different computer as well, both far surpassed the requirements.

I tried my best and I could not make the game run on my Windows 8.1 laptop. Maybe will be a great game for somebody that still has the beautiful Windows XP on their machines.

I absolutely love this game, one of the greatest games every designed.
