Small, no wheels perfect for my fat 24 lb cat
Can’t understand why this is a frequently returned item. Maybe because it’s larger than what people think? I have a 24 pound big cat and have been traveling with him in a medium size metal crate. Crate is too big and I think he would prefer something smaller so he feels safer because he hates to travel. We’re typically in the car no more than 2.5-3.5 hours. Have looked at a number of pet carriers because he’s so big that most the small crates are too small, he would destroy a soft crate and the larger crates are too big. Found this one and it was purrfect. He can stand up and he can turn around because he’s a cat, even though he’s morbidly obese he’s amazingly bendy and squashy. He also didn’t allow me to put it together before he claimed it. I had to assemble it with him in it and assembly was very easy, great design. Excellent sturdy construction, we do not plan on traveling in a plane so I can’t speak for that, the “certificate” it came with saying it was plane compliant was dated 2013. Things may have changed since then but there’s no way an animal is getting out of this without assistance. If you’re planning to travel on a plane, just try to make sure there will be no loose monkeys because they could definitely figure out how to open the door. We will be taking a trip fairly soon and I hope that he is happier in this than he was in the metal crate. Of course he wouldn’t cooperate to get a side-by-side picture and he looks too big in the video where he’s standing on top, but the crate accommodates him beautifully. Well ventilated, but won’t allow him to stick his fat paw through to claw shred my car, cool water/food dishes and stickers to stick all over it letting everyone know it contains a LIVE ANIMAL. Could also be used for a raccoon as long as his hands were not too tiny, so as not to reach them through the door to open it from the outside.

Great crate!
Really nice crate/carrier. It was super easy to put together, came with all the necessary items for a flight including the wheels. I think this is best for at home use, or an occasional short car ride. This isn't durable enough for long term in car travel but it's perfect for introducing puppies to a crate.

Absolute Quality
I have a 12-year-old domestic longhair cat that at one point was 24 lbs. A lot of people who see him mistake him for a Maine Coon. I have a normal-sized pet carrier that I've been putting him in, and he doesn't have room to do anything. That's because a foldable canvas one I WAS using, was torn up by a stray I had to house in it briefly, and then 2 more kittens eventually tore it up more so they could squeeze through and escape. I met a woman the last time I was at the vet, who had a nice carrier for her cat. It was about the size of the canvas carrier I previously used. She couldn't remember where she got it, though. So, I went searching on Amazon after measuring the current carrier and the canvas carrier, to find something that would work. I came across this, and just put it together this morning. It was insanely easy to assemble. I appreciated that. I am thoroughly impressed with it. It is very sturdy. I would say it's good for pets that are about the size of a Maine Coon, or a Corgi. Lots of room. They also sell a pet bed that fits in it nicely, which I purchased. The best part is that the carrier has wheels that can snap in and out easily while being completely locked into place. So, you can use wheels on it, or not. I highly recommend this carrier, especially if you're traveling... the wheels would make that a breeze (but could also be an issue with rolling around an airplane, or vehicle if not strapped into place).

Great kennel, survived the trip intact and kept my large cat safe
Bought this kennel to make sure my large cat was comfortable and safe during an interstate flight with Alaska Airlines. The two halves of the kennel shell are made of nice sturdy plastic with metal wire grills for windows, and was very easy to assemble with just a few nuts and bolts needed (metal ones are included). The door also feels very solid, and there are plenty of holes for zip-ties throughout, both to secure the door as well as the two halves of the kennel. My cat also took a liking to it immediately with the matching pet bed, and really enjoyed camping out in it for half the day. Food/water bowls snap on to the wire door nicely. The wheels are a great addition and fairly easy to put on and remove, and we had to do so at several points in our travel. If you must do so while your pet is still inside the kennel, it's best as a two-person job: one to lift the kennel slightly on one side, and another to crouch down and deal with the wheels. Otherwise, you are going to want to remove your pet from the kennel, as they are not easy to add or remove blindly. Anyways, it survived the flight in the cargo compartment of a Boeing 737-9 Max and handling throughout both airports, as well as quite a bit of land travel with no noticeable damage. I'd be confident that it can survive everything else we could throw at it. Our cat will probably not be so keen on getting back in anytime soon however, no more flights for the poor cat... for now.

Worked for air travel with my GSD!
Absolute game-changer for traveling with my German Shepperd. It’s incredibly sturdy and well-built, with thick plastic walls and a strong wire door that feels secure and reliable. My dog immediately felt comfortable inside because the crate is very spacious, giving him plenty of room to stand, turn around, and lie down without feeling cramped. Used it for airplane travel One of the best features is the smooth-rolling wheels, which make moving the crate effortless—even when you’ve got a 80+ lb dog inside. The wheels snap on and off easily, which is perfect for airport travel. Assembly was surprisingly simple, and the crate meets airline requirements, giving me peace of mind for flights. Update: Wheels started to come out, I had to glue them.

Great kennel
I’m very happy with this kennel. Very sturdy. I thought that it would be too big for my cat, but actually it is just right. He is not cramped up in it.

Great indoor kennel!
I debated back and forth before deciding to purchase this crate. We have always had giant breed dogs (St. Bernard, Great Dane, Bullmastiff) and currently have a 48 inch crate by a different manufacturer. We have a mastiff mix “puppy” (1 year old) who has outgrown our puppy crate (size large). Many other reviews left me hesitant to buy this crate but then I read one by a kennel owner who said it was the best giant breed crate she’s had and I decided to roll the dice. To be clear, we are not going to travel with this crate. Anytime you are assembling a crate of this size it is an in place project. Once assembled it doesn’t fit through doors or into cars well unless you have doors wider than 36” and a cargo van or xxxl suv. We are going to use it as a safe space in our house for our dog when we are not home. It is actually slightly larger than our Petmate kennel and the plastic is slightly less thick. Our dogs are kennel trained so this won’t be a problem for us. If you have an escape artist you may want to make a different choice. (The plastic on the Petmate is virtually indestructible even to a dog trying to dig out.) However one of the things that stands out is the ease of assembly. It’s easily done by one person and extra bolts and wing nuts are included. Also the door latch is much easier to use than our other kennel and the door is larger. I think we’ll be very happy with this crate for our purposes. It actually has more internal space than our other crate. All pictures are without the wheels. I have included photos of it next to the Petmate for comparison. It is the kennel with the light colored top and gray bottom. Dog pictured is 125 pounds.
