Great tool.
We bought this to help get through some rocks while replacing a fence post and this worked great. Lightweight enough to use but still powerful.

Worth the buy!
I was kind of skeptical when I bought this but never regretted it when my husband started using it to buss open big rocks. If you live in the Caribbean you know that you have to level the land you are building on, and let me tell you! This did its job! It broke down big rocks perfectly. This is a very durable, powerful, and necessary tool for construction. It definitely did more than I expected. Oh it looked just like the photo. Very accurate to the description.

needs oil
The machine works great, does exactly what I needed: break up concrete in my driveway, quickly and easily, and is exactly the right size. Not so big that it becomes unwieldy and unmanageable, and plenty big enough to easily demolish the concrete. My only criticism is that the unit arrived practically without oil, most of it seems to have spilled out inside the case and was all over everything. After wiping it up and refilling it, I see no evidence of an oil leak. I have no idea if it can withstand the beating from daily use, but for the occasional user, it's a great little machine and a great value.

great unit
Well like any cheap tool i had my doubts that this would last long. i took a chance and bought it for my gold mining operation. im a small scale gold miner and needed a jackhammer to break the rock out of formation. The unit showed up and was actually a lot bigger then i thought it was going to be. upon opening the package i pretty much threw away everything that came with it safety gear wise.you will need to go buy oil for it, the instructions tell you what to buy, and you can find it at your local auto parts store. i took the unit to my mine site and ran it off of a 3500w generator. the spade bit looks cheap but it took a day worth of beating and showed no signs of wear. the unit is heavy enough that you dont need to use a ton of force to get it into rock. the host "greenstone" rock that my gold vein is in is very very hard. the hammer did a good job of breaking into and spliting this hard rock so it could be moved. overall for the price this hammer is amazing. i would recommend it to anyone and i will be buying another unit. ill be posting a video of this in action in the near future on my you tube channel, poor boys gold mining!! thanks for a great product. About as good as you could expect for the price
I needed this for some light demolition of an above ground concrete duck pond the previous residents had made. It works just fine, but I'm not giving it 5 stars for a couple of reasons. First, on the plus side it works okay from my regular 15 amp outlet on a 12 gauge extension cord. I haven't noticed any problems with that; I suspect it doesn't really draw 2200 watts (although to be safe you should probably use a circuit and extension cord rated for 2200 watts instead of doing what I'm doing). The setup is pretty easy - just add oil, attach a tool according to instructions, and go. I've only used it for about 20 minutes so far but it performs as expected. I'm sure it'll take me a few hours to break up the pond, which I'll need to spread out over a couple of days. Here's why it doesn't get 5 stars: - The case isn't really sturdy enough for this heavy tool. Mine arrived cracked. It's not a big enough deal to bother with a return, but a case you have to handle gingerly just isn't as good as one that is sturdy. - The included gloves, goggles, and face mask are a joke. I wouldn't recommend even trying to use any of them. (Instead you should use your own eye and breathing protection.) So it gets a solid 4 stars for being good enough to save me money compared to renting a tool for several days and being simple to use. I thought it might feel dangerous but it doesn't...it's easy enough to control in an upright position. If I had to drill horizontally I'm sure it would be very difficult and potentially more dangerous.

Works until you stop
I bought because I needed to dig into hard/rocky decomposed granite (Or "soil" as it is called in the west). I used it today to dig up some trees and it dug up the root balls quite well using the optional shovel attachment. The wide chisel included here worked well to cut through thick roots. Using a saw is a great way to ruin a good blade, so this worked the treat. I have not dug my fence holes yet, but I am confident this will work well. Mine shipped almost dry, so I had to purchase some oil and fill it first. My case actually arrived in good condition and is made much better than I thought. I ran it off of 100 feet of 14 gauge cable, probably not best, but worked absolutely fine. You get tired out fast using it because the unit is fairly heavy, but if it were lighter, it wouldn't work. Tip - resist the urge to let the bit "dig in" 10 inches. Then it will get stuck, and you will spend a lot of time reefing to get it unstuck. Best to "dig" 3 or 4 inches, then pull it out, and attack it right next to where you first dug. This way you can make deeper cuts in passes and not get it stuck. I cannot say how long it will last, but it appears to be built quite well. I may have some concrete that will be busted up by it later.
