Check engine model
Although these springs are excellent quality and were quickly delivered, they were too "strong" for my Mountfield HP470, and caused the mower to violently over rev. I incorrectly presumed that all HP270s had the same engine. In the end I re checked the engine's model number / type / code and ordered the corresponding genuine Briggs parts ( part num 691859 & 690254 ).
