I am impressed with the high PAR levels produced by this small grow light.
I was looking for a small LED grow light to supplement lighting for the end of a 5-foot shelf since most lighting will cover only 4 feet. This small plant light is almost overkill for my lighting needs on this shelf. This light is extremely bright when set to 100%, but most important is the quality of the light which is measured with a PAR meter. This light is on a shelf that I am growing cherry tomato bushes which require full sun for at least 12 hours. I have found the PAR levels for this light to be far superior to other small LED lights I have had. So, what do I like about this grow light? 1) In addition to being very bright, the PAR levels produced are excellent. When set at 50% and 13" above the plants, the PAR level is 747 which is more than enough for the cherry tomato plants. 2) The intensity of the light is easily adjustable with a dial on the end of the light. This mean that the intensity of the light can be adjusted for seedlings, or small to large plants without having to adjust the height of the light. If you prefer to adjust the height of the light, pulley are included with this light. 3) The cord length is plenty long to reach an electrical outlet and an extension cord can be used to extend it. 4) This plant light works perfectly with a timer. 5) This light can be daisy chained to another light to cover larger areas which eliminates the need to find an outlet for each light. 6) A supplied dimming cable can be used to control the light intensity of all lights on the chain from one light. 7) The light from this plant light penetrates the leaf canopy to encourage new plant growth below the canopy. 8) This light is extremely easy to set up and use. 9) This light provides more consistent PAR readings even on the outer edges of the lighted area. I am currently using 3 of these lights on a 2' x 5' plant shelf to provide lighting for bush tomato plants, and have installed them so the longer side is perpendicular to the side of the shelf. So this light sufficiently lights the 2' width of the shelf. By spacing them on the 5' shelf, the crossover lighting of the lights equalizes the lighting to the plants. Considering the height of these plants, I have all of them set at 60% which saves on electricity. Since these light penetrate the plant canopy, I am seeing a lot of new growth on the plants within a couple of weeks. UPDATE 03/09/26: Since my initial review, I have bought 6 more of these lights to cover 2 shelves on a 5' 2' shelving unit. I have all 6 lights daisy chained, so only one plug goes into my timer. Since these lights do turn off by turning the light intensity dial to 0%, I can use each of these lights individually as needed. I plan to use this shelving unit to grow 6 bussing tubs of beets that I have started in one tub. At the height these lights are set, these plants will initially get 500 PAR of lighting while they are small which should be sufficient for seedling. As the plants grow and get taller, I will need to turn down the light intensity percentage. I am looking forward to a great harvest of beets and beet greens in about 4-5 months that will last us for a couple of years. I love that I can control the light intensity with a dial rather than having to physically raise and lower the lights. I have added pictures of my beet plants before transplant and the 5' shelf with the lights installed. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Good light
I think the light works really well however I like the 100w better myself due to the color tone but the plants like both I think. I think the fact it does not have an off is annoying especially considering the lower wattage and cost one does which is odd. I use a timer so it’s not that big of a deal but it might be to some. It doesn’t get hot, it functions well, it’s plenty bright and the size is good for the space I use it for too. It’s super easy to set up right out of the box and comes with adjustable hangers too. Other than the lack of the off option and the tone it puts out (compared to my many other ones) it’s still a good light at a good price(at the time I bought it). I’d buy it again but not at the current price and would opt for the 100w one over this one. Vipraspectra makes good grow lights though that are solid, a good value for what you get and reliable.

I grow HOT peppers!
I grow hot peppers (Ghosts, Reapers, Bhut Jolokias, Chocolates...like super-sonically HOT peppers). This light rocks! Full spectrum, and I can tell because we started Marigolds as 'guard' plants first. They grew so fast we had to transplant in 3 weeks. We're growing some of the hardest plants to grow we've ever done, Morning Glory (wild) "bush" plants. We've been told they are "impossible" to grow. After (3) years of 100% failures, we now have (6) plants started with (5) more getting ready to pop. The only thing different is this light. Again, these are "wild" Morning Glory "bushes; extremely difficult to grow...and they're coming up. The Morning Glory flower (plants) from Home Depot are easy to grow, but they're only annuals; these "bushes" are perennials and grow for decades...and they're gorgeous! Anyway, this light works really well. We've never been able to get many of the plants we start under these lights to start any other way. You do need to be careful with these lights though and not turn them up too high. They will rock your seedling's world. You can easily overheat or scorch young plants with this light, but the light is adjustable, so just know what intensity your plants need based on age.

Great light for orchids
This has been a great light for growing orchids needing high light indoors (Vanda,Cattleya, Dendrobium, etc). I actually run it only at 10-20% intensity with the current setup because of the distance to plants (PPFD is 100-400 depending on placement including shading some.). Small enclosure with mounted, hanging, and potted plants. I'll be lowering the platform soon so I can have more mounted space and also increase the light output. Great light with lots of happy orchids.

Decent light for the money
Quick update after a year: I still like the light! Still hate the 4 position dimming- what were they thinking?? I’m now using it with an AC Infinity controller and it works perfectly plus it gives 10 dimming levels. Just have to find the local/remote switch located in an odd place and switch it to remote. At the moment is now about 45% cheaper than when I purchased a year ago- sigh. March 2023 initial review: I am a serious hobbyist and have professional greenhouse grade grow lights that I love but are very expensive and as I expand I wanted to try and save some money so I’ve added different Viparspectra brand lights. This model claims to be “professional” but it really isn’t- it just provides for linking units to a controller and is powerful enough to fry your young plants if you aren’t paying attention. - The light focusing feature does seem to work though I rather doubt the practical benefit. - it doesn’t provide for daisy chaining power, only dimming. - I bought the 150 watt with dimmer version thinking that rather than regularly adjusting lamp height to get the required light levels as I do now on my 100watt lamps I’d use a combination of higher wattage and manual dimming and save some messing around. However the dimmer switch has only 4 settings which is truly annoying though maybe not a big practical problem but even the much cheaper Viparspectra lights have infinitely variable dimmer switch. - the hanging/mounting brackets are horrible as without modification they aren’t secure on the light but even worse they consume a ton of vertical space. - the lights aren’t even water resistant and the LEDs are fully exposed to mechanical damage. The unit comes with nice set of tables that show PAR levels at different lamp heights. If you need a light to start seeds for eventual transplant outside then this unit is overkill as a 100 watt LED or even cheap fluorescent setup is all you need. But if you are growing plants to maturity/fruiting indoors you want the added wattage this has. If you have a serious indoor growing setup then consider spending the extra cash for true horticultural grade professional LEDs rather than these “pretend” professional lights.

Truly great growlights
I've purchased multiples of these lights and had them running 12 hours a day for two to three years and they just keep on running like champs. And they are BRIGHT, just like you want them to be. What I use them for: orchids, staghorn ferns, carnivorous plants, succulents, cacti, ginger during the winter. I basically have a greenhouse but it's a room in the house. Everything I put under them just grow s like crazy, especially in the NW where none of these things would grow well here in the deep woods. Quality: These have been bulletproof. I've moved them around multiple times as plants have gotten rearranged and they keep on truckin. No burnt out diodes, no diminishing light intensity, PAR levels are as they describe. Adjustments: The clips make it easy to hang on the system I made after getting rid of the bakers shelves (which was also an easy solution). They're also easy to adjust the height. The dial allows the light internist to be turned up or down in 20% increments which is always nice. Heat output: They definitely do get a little warm, but not scalding hot like other types of growlihhts (non-LED). I do have a few other brands of LED growlights from before I discovered these and the heat output is on scale with the increased wattage. I get these on sale occasionally so they've been a perfect addition. I haven't daisy chained them together yet because they tend to be spread out across the room, but on a Bluetooth timer wall plug, they've been perfect to let me enjoy a hobby in a place where it never would've been possible.

So much better than the cheaper knock offs
I had purchased several cheaper lights before getting this ones, I have two others with the same power ratings, number of diodes and dimensions and I thought they were fine until I installed this and turned it on and realized just how lacking they were. This thing is BRIGHT! At 50% strength, it matches the other lights I have when they are set to 100%. The hardware that comes with it is pretty nice. I appreciated the two pulley ropes that are provided, it’s a huge step up from the normal small chains I’ve been using for my other lights. You can easily adjust the height in seconds by releasing the lock on the pulley and then lowering or raising the ropes. The heat dissipation works really well - my others lights get hot to the touch after an hour but this one is just warm - maybe a little warmer than skin temp. The heat sink material that backs the lights works really well. Also the new upgraded lenses really seem to make a difference. I think I will only purchase these going forward. It’s a little more than what I was spending on lights but it’s money well spent.
