You won’t regret it!
I sent in my dogs swab and was greatly surprised to find out what kind of dog she actually is. I enjoyed reading about her traits and trainability as well as other traits. Great overall! Highly recommend.

Scam
Scam. Slow and not reliable. They made us put down an age and we put 3. She has no teeth, cataracts and cancer. The Vet thinks she is about 10 years old and we have had her for 3 years. The test came back at the same age (3) in both categories. We feel like we were scammed and now doubt the breed results. We have another rescue that we just adopted and will not use this test again.

Highly recommend
Test directions were easy to understand. It took almost 3 weeks for them to receive the specimen, I did email them and received a prompt response. It took about 2 weeks to get the results. Reggie is 5 years old and we just adopted him from the shelter. I feel the test confirmed what we thought he was mixed with, and a couple of surprises. I am still waiting on his genetic age which should take another week or 2. I tested other dogs in the past with different tests and I feel this test is accurate and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!
BUYERS BEWARE! You get what you pay for!!!!! I sent my dog’s sample in mid-November and it took two weeks for the lab to receive it. It took about 3 weeks to get the DNA results which seem really iffy but ok! I purchased the kit with the genetic age and a month later from getting the DNA results I’m still waiting to get her genetic age! I went with this test because it was on sale but I clearly it was a mistake. I’m giving them two stars because the three times I emailed the company to get a status, they did answer back quickly! Never got a clear status updated but they responded.

Easy to use
This test kit is. Dry easy to use with explicit instructions step by step. We did it and sent it in using the postage paid envelope included and now awaiting the results.

Very misguiding
I purchased the premium package because the shelter we adopted her from told us she was 2. Our vet told us no qualified vet would have said she was 2 just looking at her teeth. I sent the test out 3 weeks ago and they claim they still don't have it. I live in Virginia and it should not take any more than a week for it to arrive. Total waste of $80 dollars. I doubt I ever get any results.

Clearly a beagle mix!
Easy to use, reasonably priced (with a discount coupon) and results for my dog seem spot on! He was a stray from WVA - probably a "hunting dog fail" as he shows signs of that training but is terrified of loud noises. Came back as a mix of three hunting breeds - Basset, Beagle, and Leopard Hound.

I don't think the wolf testing part is as accurate as they think.
I had three wolfdogs. The mother that I bred with another wolfdog and kept two boys. After the mother and one brother passed I thought it would be wonderful to have a certificate showing their wolf content especially since my boy's father, uncle, grandmother and grandfather on his mother's side have passed in the last few years that I all personally know the breedline and owners. I'm not arguing the dog breeds they claim, I'm disagreeing with their negative wolf dna as both sides had Artcic wolf. He should have been atleast mid content. I can't take him anywhere without people seeing he's wolf. The vet's even certify it. I would always say Husky /Malamute mixed to prevent vets and landlords fearing to treat them and or rent me a place, none of them believed it for a minute and it's because he is a wolfdog. Maybe they don't test for that type, I'm not sure but after the results, I have no choice but to see what embark will show since they test 350 breeds, break down the percentages, the bloodlines, family history, which breed came from who and also tests 200 health markers. It's $170 but you get what you pay for. This is not a hit at dnamydog.com, they only do basic dna testing but I thought I had to jump on the wolf test at that price. That's my fault not theirs. I do wish it stated which types of wolves they test for and with the negative result it should say negative for gray wolf etc..

My 1 German Shepherd isn't a typical GSD. He demeanor, attitude, heightened energy levels, her vocal communications from high pitch happy screaming (yes, literal screaming) to her teeth chomping and herding behaviors. I wanted to see what else was in her breed, as both her parents were German Shepherds. Turns out she's nearly 1/4 Belgain Malanois !! Which TOTALLY explains her attachment to me, as he leader, the herding activity and communication by nipping ankles, gently taking your hand to lead you somewhere safe, her extensive energy, her demeanor being agile, tightly wound up, etc. THIS TEST HELPED!! It helped me understand my girl better. She's totally different from my other 2 German shepherd, and I've owned MANY GSDs throughout my life. This dog has so many unique traits i needed to find out what she truly is. 1.This test took a bit to get the results. 2. This is quite expensive. 3. This test provides ample information about the breed types discovered, and offers helpful information about the specific breed behavioural traits. 4. I recommend, it helped me understand finally why my girl is so unique! and now that i know, i feel more at ease knowing tips for working with and owning a herding dog, that displays the behaviours she does. :)

DO NOT BUY - Tested twice 2 years + apart w/DNA my dog I tested my dog as a puppy, and then decided to do an upgraded test and allergy test for fun a couple years later. At first I thought it would be funny if they gave me a different result - turns out it wasn't funny. After some back and forth, their customer service? person Angie resorted to gas lighting and condescension, ending with suggesting I see my vet - which makes no sense. If you are doing the test, make sure it's just for fun, as the information is not reliable and this is just a gimmick. First test seemed accurate and fit with my dogs looks/behavior. 4 breeds given - and I had included a picture of my dog. The new test gave only 2 breeds, and I did NOT include a picture this time, to see if there was any influence on the results the first time... I guess there was! Her allergy testing was wrong as well - I knew of one allergy for sure, but the test came back that she had no sensitivities to it. When I queried about the different results, they said the first test must have been wrong/contaminated and that I should see my vet if I am unsatisfied with their results.

The test was simple and easy to use - the customer service at DNAmydog was quick to answer my questions - The test came back and with a printable copy of her results that I can keep for her vet follow-ups as she was a rescue and I had no clue of what she actually was. Would definitely recommend this DNA test to others

Took three weeks from posting to the company to receiving results. I was okay with that However the results were surprising (not in a good way). The results said 70% border collie, 14% Dalmatian, 9% vizsla, 7% English shepherd Our previous dog was a border collie - so we have personal experience of a BC Yet by the dogs actions and appearance we expected poodle, bearded collie, and maybe something else. Attaching photo so you can decide
