is glass cutter work perfectly for my project

I was pleased with the quality of this cutter for scoring glass from a used picture frame for a new project. I also have a classic “Fletcher” glass cutter and actually found this one easier to use since the square block on the cutting head tracks more easily against a straight edge. Cut quality was reasonably good although there is definitely a skill to do in this! I might recommend picking up an old picture frame from Goodwill and practicing on a throwaway piece of glass before committing to your project, if glass cutting is new to you. I did not fill the oil reservoir, instead just hitting the tip with a drop of machine oil, which worked fine. I don’t want to store oil in it since I will only use it occasionally. The only negative I can see is that the plastic case doesn’t quite close all the way due to the set screw on the cutting head being a little too high.

I ordered this kit once, the first kit came with a warpped case, and the screw for the heads was already stripped, so I sent it back and asked fir a replacement kit. The case was much better but the screw, once again was already stripped. So I used my persicion X screw driver and that worked. The cutter works great, oil dispenser work well, but I do recommend dipping the cutter wheel in oil also. Good quality for the price. Don't be surprised if the little screwdriver provided doesn't work. Again use a persicion x shaped screwdriver of your own.

Should be made to allow for adjustments to be made in much less time than it actually takes... You loosen an adjustment screw it should be just a partial turn with a screw driver and then allow you slide to the needed adjusted slot, but NO you have to literally take all 4 screws and nuts that are on the underside and reinsert them in your desired notch. Very time consuming to make adjustments to accommodate the different size bottles to allow it to work acceptably. But once you do all that, it does do the job and will score the glass in a perfect circle with no movement if you keep it steady with your hand while turning it.

Clearly a quality product. For an old man experiencing price shock, I buy everything. It was nice receiving a quality precision tool for a reasonable price. And that wonderful feeling of getting what you paid for.

The cutter comes with a tip attached and I don't know if maybe this was done somewhere with a VERY different climate or what but it's like they had Thor tighten it to the point where I was stripping it trying to get it off. Since the instructions (image attached) say to attach the tip to match the glass thickness I assume this is vital for success, and so decided to return it. I'm very disappointed because I was trying to finish a project before guests arrive, but now that seems impossible. DON'T OVERTIGHTEN SCREWS!!! I don't understand why they would do this! I attached images to show the screw starting to strip. I don't want to try to find a replacement screw or return it fully stripped. I have not put the oil in yet, and would recommend anyone buying this to try to change the tip yourself if you ever plan to before putting oil in case you have the same issue

i had a little bit of an issue at first because i didn't realize i wasn't allowing the water to get hot enough. after dozing that, this worked really well!

Works great! I like the fact that there are 3 different cutting wheels depending on the thickness of the glass you're cutting.
