Ordered this book to learn a new skill to be able to make a profit save money never have to buy another expensive battery again and also think along the lines of starting a company this book is the go to for diy very informative and interesting skill to learn it was definitely worth the money

1/2 thru the book and I cant put it down. It has a lot of technical information that you can skip over and come back latter if you decide to experiment building your own battery. It's a little lean on safety procedures. Excellent pictures and explanations. I'm an electrical engineer and this book would of helped me on several jobs where we upgraded lead acid batteries. This level of understanding is needed for troubleshooting or understanding what can go wrong with L.A. batteries. Great information for salvaging lead acid batteries that might be recoverable!!!

I've never seen a book on this subject before (that wasn't printed before 1928, anyway). The safety section could make some people too paranoid to ever open the hood of their car or go within 100 yards of a solar home, and I could wish for a little more detail about the early history of the lead acid battery, and maybe some color photos, but otherwise this is great material on the subject. I'll be reconditioning a battery for my truck soon, something I didn't even know was possible until reading this. I may even try building a Plante style cell from scratch.

This is the definitive book that all should have in their personal library. Phillip Hurley takes you step by step to energy independence. No fluff here. Well written and thought out and well documented with illustrations and photos. All one needs to know is how operate a soldering iron. Low tech teaching method with high tech results. Want to slash those energy bills? Buy ALL of his books. Not one contains any disappointment. Ed Rivera

This is a really awesome book and it shows very easily the information and the amount of pictures it has, make it so fast and easy to read. The thing I didn't like about this great book, is the fact that I wanted to get in touch with the author for a few questions and never found it, nor an website or an email address, the only contact information I've found was the editor email, and they've never responded to my messages :-/ I truly recommend this superb book and will buy the other books this author have wrote.

Book deals solely with lead acid car batteries I thought it included other battery types it does not. Therefore it does not serve me any purpose.

REALLY NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE TO REBUILD BATTERIES, FOR ME.

This book is simply outstanding in every respect. Hey, if you're like me and need a solid battery-bank for your off-grid bugout spot, but are too cheap to shell out two or three thousand for serious Plante' Batteries, this is your bible. It doesn't mater if you're trying to restore your old set of lead acids, or having to recast some junkyard rejects into a fresh set, this is your pole star, IMHO. Does it take a lot of work? Yep. Is it a fun and easy process? Nope. Is it dangerous? Yep. No matter; if you NEED this knowledge, there's NO better book. Dig it. A+++

très bien documenté, un vrai travail extensif, bourré de photos, il ne s'agit pas d'un e-book imprimé à la va-vite. C'est très fourni, l'auteur a vraiment fourni un travail conséquent. Merci à lui de le partager à un prix très raisonnable !
