Stove Fan - Silently Effective
I purchased this fan recently and have only used it for a couple days, yet I am thoroughly impressed, so much so that I may buy a second one. I live in a 1,200 square foot cabin on Lake Super north of Duluth, so I know what cold is. I have horribly expensive baseboard heat, so I use my Jotul wood burning stove as much as possible. When it is cold outside, so right now around 5 to -10 degrees Fahrenheit/-15 to -23 degrees Celsius, I am lucky if I can get the main space up to just over 50 degrees Fahrenheit as I burn soft wood I harvest on my property. HOWEVER, just in the last two days of use, I can feel a huge difference in how heat is more evenly distributed, and I am able to heat the space much quicker and much higher, getting up to near 70 degrees Fahrenheit. As we know, heat rises, so it is having to 'fill' the space with warm air from the ceiling down before you can really feel it. So, this fan works great at pushing warm air directly from the stove surface out into the room horizontally, while the stove still does its normal radiant heating thing. Reading other reviews before purchasing, this fan is very well built, sturdy, and super quiet. It is so quiet that the only way I remember it is there is when I see the blades moving. Following their instructions, I keep the fan on the stove top in a back corner. Now, to be clear, you may not feel any air movement. In fact, when it first begins to spin, I feel cool air as it is moving the pre-heated air around, though as my stove warms up, I can feel warm air circulating even though holding my hand in front of the fan, I don't feel air movement. I can attest that, with my limited use, I see a HUGE difference in how quickly and how thoroughly my space is heated. Based on the pictures, it seemed that the fan utilized a heatsink behind the blade, as I assumed the heat transferred from the stove through the fan's base would require deflecting the heat to protect the minimal electronics. However, I don't think this is the case as the aluminum base, while it gets as hot as the stove top, actually doesn't connect directly to the fan body as there seems to be a white thermal barrier between the base and the fan body, so the fan body is actually not hot and is just above room temperature, so I am not clear on what the decorative swirly heatsink looking body does, though maybe it does diffuse enough heat to protect the electronics. There are so many options for these sorts of fans, and not having experience with them, I really based this purchase from what seemed to be a popular brand name, the fact that the company seems to continue to improve their products and have many price-point options, the good reviews, and the size of the fan as this fan is larger than many I read about on Amazon. This is a well built, simple fan that seems to make a massive difference, at least from my limited experience.

Very Innovative
I have been burning a wood stove for over 40 years. I've used several fans to add volume to heated air. This Hoda device is by far the most effective and economical. Needs no power source. Rising heat generates the energy to turn the fan. You might find a better fan, but not at this price point.

Stopped working after two hours
Our fan worked perfectly when placed in front of the fireplace for two hours then simply stopped turning. I checked the temperatures in multiple places and never could get it to work again. I even hung it where there would be greater levels of heat and it still refused to work. The noise level was non-existent, when it worked. Perhaps a better quality fan would be advised.

Might be good, but here's what I experienced
The one I received spun backwards, so airflow was pretty much non-existent. It did spin at what seemed to be a healthy rate and didn't take too long to start up. Operation was silent and construction seemed pretty solid. Had this operated properly, I might have kept it, but since this was my first experience with one of these, and I didn't know what to look for, I went with another with fewer blades and a higher airflow rating. Can't really give an accurate evaluation or recommend (or not) since mine didn't operate properly, but this was my experience.

Surprisingly Effective
Heat from the wood-burner activated it quickly and it really does move the heat around the room

Werkt echt!
