Best At-Home Trimmer โ Quality Brand!
Best nail trimmer on the market! Works perfect for my 130lb bloodhound with x-large nails (usually nailโs width is too tight to fit into traditional nail cutters). Great at-home tool to keep dogโs nails trimmed. Filing goes slow to monitor adequate shave down level. Easy to use and actually files nails down!!! Quality materials, good charge and 3 files included in starter package. Easy start up! It is slightly loud/not silent but trained my dog to not be frightened by noise (may be too loud for dogโs sensitive to sound).

Instructions for beginners HERE. It's easy to use and it works well!
I like the Dremel 7350-PET because it's easy to use and it works. Here are some instructions based on my experience with it and a few tips. The instructions are confusing for a beginner. The Dremel is kind of like an electric drill with a chuck that loosens and tightens so you can put in different sized bits and lock them in place. The Dremel 7350-PET can take a variety of bits for other uses, but you only need the one that comes with it (the shaft-like โcolletโ) for grinding dogโs nails. The Dremel comes pretty much ready to use, but you will need to insert the collet into the chuck to get started. You will find the collet inside the small plastic bag of accessories that comes with the Dremel, already assembled with one of the sanding belts ready to use. See the photo below for the different parts. From right to left: the blue Dremel tool with the tool shaft sticking out of it, the chuck (metal chunky piece with ridges that goes onto the tool shaft to tighten it), the collet (metal shaft-like piece that has a longer end and a shorter end), a silicone housing (looks sort of like a drum) with metal washers on each side of it, a sanding belt, and a tiny screw at the very end that holds it all together. Press on the obvious shaft lock button on top of the tool, and hold it down. Loosen the metal chuck using your fingers or the little wrench, and slide the long end of the collet (shaft) inside the chuck, then tighten the chuck using your fingers or the wrench, and itโs ready to use. To change the sanding belt, you need to take the sanding belt unit apart in order to get the old sanding band off. This is easy, but be sure to do this on a table with plenty of light to avoid losing the tiny screw and other parts. You canโt just slide the sanding band off; you have to unscrew the unit, remove the sanding belt unit from the collet (shaft), and remove the washers from the silicone housing (drum). After you do that, the silicone is then somewhat squeezable so you can push the old sanding belt off. Put a fresh sanding belt over the silicone housing, and put it all back together. The little screw holds the sanding belt unit in place. Make sure you donโt lose the little screw. A few tips: -- Noise: I used an iPhone app (Decibel) and the Dremel comes out at 61 decibels right next to the iPhone microphone, which is โquiet streetโ level. Yes, itโs a machine and it makes a noise, but itโs a whole lot quieter than a drill. -- Comfort: Dogs generally do not like their paws fiddled with. Some people train their dogs to tolerate handling, and get them used to the smell and sound of the Dremel tool. My vet takes dogs to a back room and it takes two people to dremel โ one to hold onto the dog and the other to do the dremeling. Iโve seen someone tackle their dog and hold them down while dremeling, which is what you might have to do if youโre doing it solo. The alternative is clippers, and the pressure and loud crunch scare the dog, plus thereโs greater danger of cutting the quick with clippers. If you can manage the Dremel, you can save hundreds of dollars a year ($30 per dremel currently). So itโs worth giving it a shot. -- Direction: Be aware that it spins in only one direction, so donโt go โback and forth,โ just lift it for each swipe and repeat in the same direction. If youโre looking down onto the working end of the tool, the sanding belt turns counter-clockwise. You have to move the sanding belt unit across the dogโs nail in the opposite direction, the opposite way from the direction of turn. -- If youโre holding the dogโs paw in your left hand and the Dremel in your right hand, move the Dremel like you would if you were peeling a potato toward you, one direction only, lift and repeat, but donโt press down and donโt let it touch the dogโs nail for more than about a second. Just do a few light swipes and move to the next nail. A dogโs nails sand down fast, so watch it; you donโt want to get down to the quick. -- With clippers, you could chop off a nail at the quick and that would really hurt; with the Dremel, you can just do a bit at a time; if you touch skin with the sanding belt it doesnโt cut the skin, although it might make a small abrasion (try it on your finger to get an idea); just do a little each week and your dogโs nails will gradually become shorter and the quick also will recede a bit eventually. -- The sanding belt will heat up the dogโs nail if you do it too long, so only pass it over the dogโs nail for a brief moment (count โone chimpanzeeโ for one second). -- Donโt tighten the chuck too much or it might make an additional annoying noise. -- Do NOT press the lock button while the tool is running; it will make a loud noise and scare the dog. -- Doesnโt really need a light on it; just turn a lamp on and you will see everything fine. -- You can leave the charging cable with the twist tie securing it plugged into the back of the tool so you donโt lose track of it; doesnโt affect performance.

Professional Groomer Approved
I purchased two of these Dremel 7350-PET nail grinders for my dog groomers after their previous tools finally gave out. Theyโve been using these regularly and have told me they absolutely love them. They mentioned that itโs easy to handle, not too heavy, and works smoothly on different sizes of dogs. The power is consistent and it makes nail grinding efficient without causing stress for the dogs. Thatโs especially important in a grooming setting where reliability matters. Since they use these daily on their customersโ dogs and are happy with the performance, I feel confident recommending this grinder. Recommendation: Yes โ especially for professional groomers or pet owners who want a dependable nail grinder.

My dog doesnโt mind it at all.
Works great. My dogs actually donโt mind it and I feel prefer it over the nail clippers. The grinder helps shorten the nails while keeping them smooth.Itโs easy to use. The grinder is not loud. Only hang up is, I wished there was some sort of a guard to protect you from the dust of the nails. I try to do this outside due to that, but unfortunately canโt always do that. I do keep a fan nearby if I have to do it in the house.

Has made trimming my dog's nails a task I can actually accomplish now
This thing is heavy, super sturdy, has a lot of power and holds a charger super well. I love that it's cordless because it means I can move it around however I need to. Very easy to use. And more than anything, it has made it so that I can actually trim my dog's nails now without him losing his mind. Truly amazing.

Easy to use
Great product with low hum so as not to frighten your pet or service dog. Does take a bit of getting used to. I did one paw at a time and then gave treats and a short break before continuing. Using this product consistently will give you the shortness you need without the fear of nicks or cuts. I try to use it at least once a month. Twice in the summertime especially if your animal wears boots due to hot macadam or cement sidewalks. Highly recommend.

Hard to put together.
This does a nice job on the dogs, and birds. Itโs not easy to put together though, comes apart while using it. Not great instructions.

This is a no-nonsense nail grinding kit! It is sturdy, and well made. My dog is used to having her nails ground. She lays on her back and goes to sleep as if she is getting a pampering mani-pedi at a fancy spa. When my previous nail grinder finally died I decided to give this one a try. At first my dog was a bit put off by the sound because it was different than the one she was used to, however she relaxed quickly and assumed her mani-pedi pose again without the necessity of bribery. She did not get a chance to go to sleep though because this grinder is fast! It is really fast actually. The sanding bands that accompany the kit are good quality and ground my dog's very hard nails as if they were soft and delicate flowers, not the black talons of a four-legged wannabe raptor that they are. I would recommend this tool for those who are at least a bit experienced with grinding tools. You really need to pay attention when using this. Assembly is easy, and the instructions are helpful. Thanks for making a task I actually dislike so much quicker and easier, Dremel. I am not sure that my dog agrees, though. She did not have anywhere near enough time to nap before her nails were all suddenly done.

Still need to distract my GSD with chews while I use this but no other options. Grinder is effective but need to wear mask as there's quite a lot of nail dust

Even with commercial use by many people it held up. Recharges really fast and does a great job. Relatively quiet compared to electric.
