We tried the metal wasabi grater and the texture was no comparison. The metal grated crated water and pulp while this grater created a smooth paste. Have not tried it on ginger but if you can get real wasabi this is a requirement to get the most out of it. Pricey but worth every penny. I used a little bit of Odies oil on the wood part to make it easier to clean, other than that perfect!
