A stupid question ... if you shouldnt use this with charcoal, how would you burn resin (natural chunks) in it???

You can totally use it with vs l charcoal, it's meant to be used with charcoal.

What is the scent of the incense coil?

Not sure. I bought lavender ones and they smell kind of similar to me.
