Product Description This is the first in a new series of Wing Chun Application by the Ving Tsun Museum. This new series moves away from the more formal and technical, systematic training of Wing Chun and into new territory, unlocking the effective fighting skills of this great martial art system. In the martial arts, superior skill involves economy of motion, not just crashing yourself into obstacles. Obstacles can aid you in gaining momentum or building pressure to move past the limitations to achieve the successes. When you successfully trap an opponent, it is because your opponent presented the keys to his own self-destruction. Once trapped you can control your opponent - allowing you to limit the damage done to either of you. At the highest levels, the study of the martial arts is the study of efficiency. This study begins with the skill of Trapping, specifically with understanding Forward Energy, Pak Sau, Lap Sau and Kau Sau. Approx. 60 Minute. pretty good
I practice WC and I like to buy videos to help expand my learning from the classes I take. Benny Meng does a different style then me but still he is one of my favorite outside sifus.>Good video and good instruction>different then what I thought he didn't show too many actual traps but instead talked about the concept of trapping to further your understanding of the subjectOverall a good video to add to my knowledge but don't buy it thinking your going to be a trap master that's not the intention of the video, buy it thinking it has some good general knowledge to fill in some gaps.

its a trap...and not the one youre looking for
yes, in this dvd you are briefly introduced to reference points and the pak sau, lop sau etc. but the applications are hardly realistic the options of applications are sparse and the most ridiculous thing of the dvd is half of it is the limp wristed guy in the blue on the cover just doing his philosophy on what the techniques mean to him...what a wretched waste of time...check out bob breen JKD Kali from Dieter Knuttels ABANICO website, Inayan KDM basics dvd or Barry Cudas Grappling DVD if youre interested on an application on this subject...
