warranty Where Cashmere Wool comes from. Cashmere wool fiber is
obtained from “Cashmere goats.” Historically, fine-haired
Cashmere goats have been called Capra hircus laniger, as if they
were a subspecies of the domestic goat Capra Hircus. Cashmere
goats produce a double fleece that consists of a fine, soft
undercoat or under-down of hair mingled with a straighter and
much coarser outer coating of hair called Guard Hair. For the
fine under-down to be sold and processed further, it must be
de-haired. De-hairing is a mechanical process that separates the
coarse hairs from the fine hair. After this separating process
the resulting premium “cashmere” is ready to be dyed and
converted into yarn. About the Bouclé Fabric Style. Bouclé is a
fabric with length of loops of similar size that range from tiny
circlets to larger curls. To make bouclé, at least two strands
are combined, with the tension on one strand being much looser
than the other as it is being plied. Bouclé in wool is a long
lasting fabric that maintains its interesting and inviting
texture for years. History of the Iconic Womb Chair Finnish
Modern Furniture Designer Eero Saarinen created the Womb Chair,
originally known as the Wombat Chair in 1948. He believed
strongly that the whole field of design is all one body. He had
three design principles - Function, Structure and being part of
the time. The Womb Chair design consists of molded fiber glass
shell covered with foam and then upholstered. The chair and
ottoman is supported by a bent tubular frame. To increase the
comfort, Eero also designed the chair with loose cushions and a
coordinating ottoman. It was named Womb Chair because it envelops
allowing you to curl up and relax in comfort. Eero Saarinen
designed with the human body form in mind. A simple concept yes,
but many designers prefer aesthetics to functionality. In nearly
every case, a piece of furniture that rises to become a classic
has both striking artistic form as well as function. The Womb
Chairs form is representative of the mid century
Scandinavian modernism style of furniture using synthetic
materials to create inspired forms. History of the Designer, Eero
Saarinen Eero Saarinen born 1910 was a Finnish American architect
and industrial designer famous for his ability to master varying
style. For example, he was accomplished in both simple, sweeping,
arching structural curves and seemingly the site side of the
spectrum, machine-like rationalism. He designed many important
pieces of furniture including one of the most famous, the “Womb”
chair and ottoman (1948). The “Tulip” or “Pedestal” group (1956),
features side and arm chairs, dining, coffee and side tables, as
well as a stool. Eero's designs were extensive, all were highly
successful except for the “Grasshopper” lounge chair, which,
although in production through 1965, was not a big hit.
