Tiz the Law
The making of a successful racehorse is equal parts breeding,
training, and magic. Thoroughbred Tiz the Law (Constitution x
Tizfiz) was purchased for $110,000 as a yearling by Sackatoga
Stable. Paired with renowned trainer Barclay Tagg and jockey
Manny Franco, the 2017 stallion has amassed $2.74 million in
career earnings as of December 2020.
He kicked off his career by winning his maiden race and the
Champagne Stakes. His 2020 season followed with a string of three
G1 wins, beginning with the Florida Derby. Next was a win at the
Belmont Stakes, making him the first New York-bred horse to have
won since 1882!
In August, Tiz the Law found success again at the Travers
Stakes, winning by an incredible 5 ½ lengths. A 2nd place finish
in the Kentucky Derby and a 6th place finish in the Breeders’ Cup
closed out his three-year-old season. Upon veterinary advice, his
racing career ended in December 2020 and he arrived at Ashford
Stud in Kentucky on January 1, 2021 to begin his new life as a
breeding stallion.
